Saif, you always take the words right out of my mouth. Your recent post describes the exact same issue I've had with MGS & its fans for so long. The bizarre focus on women's bodies in a series that's supposed to be about military conflict… it's refreshing to know that I'm not the only one who feels thrown off by it all. What bothers me as well is how even queer-identifying fans of the series perpetuate the same misogyny that is so prevalent throughout. It's maybe not as obvious, but it's still unmistakable. I am so fatigued by the fandom mentality that revolves around romanticizing & idealizing the male characters while the female characters are either relegated to the side or ignored. It isn't exclusive to MGS, either; I notice the same pattern in almost every fanbase that revolves around a male-heavy cast. It seems like the entire conversation always shifts to boring yaoi… you know what I mean!?
Hal... I'm SO glad there are other people that agree with me on this! I always see other queer fans completely ignore or even say some awful stuff about the female characters in favor of the men (I once saw someone say they'd kill Rose just to see their ship with Raiden happen.) It's so sad to see the misogyny displayed in MGS be reflected in the fandom. Also, yeah, it seriously sucks that people will idolize male characters who have done some very obviously bad stuff and then demonize female characters for the crime of, what, being rude one time? Every single fandom I've been in has done this. And the thing with the shifting focus to boring yaoi!!!!! It frustrates me so bad. I just wish people could be normal about female characters. Literally all I want.
every blog post you make introduces me to another cool thing, I just wanted to let you know that (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)
I'm so glad to hear that!!! Always love to show the things I like to the world

hi hi hi! your site is very cool! I realize I've been saying that in my head and not to he cool individual who made it... also exciting to find a another Stanley Parable enjoyer out there! LLAP
Thank you so much!!!! I think your website is really cool too. :-) always great to see other Stanley Parable fans out in the wild
Really sick website!!! I like your tools directory especially, love me some free media heck yeah. Also I spotted that ascii art HEHEEHEHE.
what struck a chord in me is the similarities in software preference to resisting the enshittification of the internet & the privacy erosion therein. SICK STUFF!!!!
I'm a deeply evil individual, so I checked your website. I really like the theme of it and I LOVE your art! You're very skilled! I didn't think anybody would notice the ASCII art I put in, LOL. Also, I'm so happy to meet other people who share my tastes and views! I'd love to get to know you more.
KGLW MENTIONED ON YUOUR INTERESTS PAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (peak)
YEP! Love their songs forever.
I love your site! very classic web 1.0 excellent taste in music as well!
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed going through your website and reading your stuff, and I think it's so cool that you're hosting it yourself!
Your latest post (journaling and this website) struck a chord with me. I won't pretend to have similar experiences to you, but I've also struggled with being "perceived," especially online. It was really bad for me when I had more social media accounts. Something about a website and less immediate forms of communication really makes putting myself online more enjoyable. I hope your website-ing experience is also positive!
I 100% agree with you! I'm not very good with responding to things immediately and such, which is why I like e-mails and guestbooks etc etc much more. It's also why I'm not very big on social media I'd say. And don't worry, my website-ing experience has been nothing but amazing. I'm glad my post resonated with you, friend!
I use librewolf (a fork of firefox without ai and insane amount of privacy measures) and arch. All cuz a few people made a good product with a lot of passion and purpose and then monopolized on it, killing all innovation. It's all about money, they want us to be dumb and put trust into something that literally tells you what and how to think, it's paradise for them. Be glad they're human and not actually that smart, they still "care" about making us feel safe. I've literally just been playing through disco elysium recently, so that's neat. I have autoplay on my website, cuz you need to consent first to the bgm. And also literally to make people's skin crawl as love love love by the mountain goats starts playing, or not, if your browser auto disabled autoplay. (haven't finished disco elysium yet btw)
You make a lot of great points! I've been thinking about moving over to librewolf (or any of the other privacy-focused forks out there) for quite a while since mozilla has been puking all over Firefox, but I guess I just haven't gotten a *push* into doing so. I hate how capitalism has taken over every aspect of our lives, even ruining the few "good" things out there, and I also hate seeing the newest tool made to make you think less pop up everywhere I go, but that's obviously by design. Also, if prior consent is given, I don't see the issue with autoplay in that case (though, would it be called autoplay if so? LOL.) I hope you enjoy playing Disco Elsyium! It's one of my favorite games EVER. I'm on my second playthrough at the moment. P.S. I really like your website :-)
Your styles on the nekoweb RSS feed look exactly like mine!!! Now I have to make mine different!!
but nice website.
So sorry about that OMG. I didn't even notice X( If you'd like I could try to change the styling. Also your website is so cool!
Hello! I love your website so much! I really dig how minimalist it is. you button is also hella cool! can't wait to see how your website evolves.
also ty for the nice message!
Ps: your directory is way cooler than mines!
Thank you so much!!! No need to compare directories my friend... they are all cool and so is yours! :-)
Hey, just wanted to say your website is excellent. Nice to see someone on here with so many shared interests! & I totally agree with your take on autoplay, probably my biggest gripe with the "indie web" lol. Anyway, I would love to get to know you better. Keep it up
Thank you so much for the kind words!!! So happy to see someone agree with my takes on autoplay LOL. I also hope we can get to know each other better. Have a great day :-)
hi hi hi hi
